The Community trout farm

This small trout farm was established in 2005, funded by DECOIN, a German-based organization which is concerned to improve incomes in Intag while protecting the environment.

The pools are close by your accommodation, and the guided tour only takes an hour or less, though many visitors like to stay longer and have trout for lunch, beside the pools, cooked on a grill by locals.

You will be shown the process of farming trout, from the “minnow” stage through to adult; there will be an opportunity to fish for your own trout and if you would like to cook them there and then, we will show you a tasty way of preparing them.

Admission is $1 per person. Admission is free for those purchasing trout or lunch. The price of the trout is $ 3,25 per kilo.

The cost of a trout lunch with rice, potatoes, salad, and soft drink is about $2 , depending on your appetite!
