  Recommended as reliable and hospitable contacts in central Quito are Chari and Felix Castañeda. Chari is catalan, and has lived in Ecuador for many years. She is an artist, and runs a vegetarian restaurant. Felix is also an artist and a professional musician with the Orchesta of Andean instruments. Chari and Felix are well used to receiving foreign visitors. They can also arrange to have you met at Quito airport by a trusted taxi driver.
