Intag

Intag is the name commonly used to describe the sub-tropical zone of Imbabura province, which lies north of the capital city, Quito (see map). It stretches from the cool western Andes to the hot coastal province of Esmeraldas, and is justly known for the great variety of birds, animals and plants that it contains, including the Andean bear and many species of orchid.

San Antonio

San Antonio is a scattered community of farm-houses(population 170) on the edge of the cotacachi-cayapas nature reserve, in the parish of Cuellaje(pronounced Kwey-ya-hey), which itself is a part of Intag.
